Back in 2013, STEM professionals and parents of two third graders, Tuhin Dutt and Miroslav Karamanov, organized a 3rd grade Mathematics Enrichment Club at their elementary school for their kids and classmates. The objective was to supplement school work with an enhanced curriculum intended to expand creative thinking and problem solving for young minds.
Six months later, the club swept the top 3 awards in the Charlotte Citywide all 3rd grader Mathematics competition.
